The CzechInvest agency, which has been supporting startups since 2011, is coming up with a new activity aimed at accelerating startups. The programme called Internationalization, with a total of 215 million crowns, offers Czech startups a unique opportunity to develop their efforts in global expansion. The first call will be launched on 31. May, with applications starting to be accepted in mid-June.
The Internationalization Program, which plans to publish two calls in total and will run until the end of 2025, aims to support at least 100 Czech technology startups. The application process will open in mid-June and is open to SMEs – technology-focused start-ups and spin-offs. They will then be able to draw various forms of support according to key activities – pre-mentoring, acceleration, expansion, R&D expansion, up to CZK 3 million.
“Through the CzechInvest agency, which builds on the highly successful CzechAccelerator and CzechDemo programmes, we want to support technology startups from mentoring to expansion, thereby increasing the competitiveness of the Czech Republic and the presentation of our country as a technologically advanced partner on global markets,” says Jozef Síkela, Minister of Industry and Trade.
Program participants will have the opportunity to attend prestigious international technology conferences, receive important feedback on their products and participate in international accelerator programs. Opening business opportunities in new markets, innovating products and services based on international know-how and transferring experience from a competitive global environment are also important objectives. “Thanks to the cooperation with world-leading experts and mentors, startups will be able to improve their services and use the capacities of global technology parks and scientific research centers. The programme will also provide better access to foreign capital,” says Jan Michal, Director General of CzechInvest.
The Internationalisation Programme is implemented under the National Recovery Plan, Component 1.4 – Digital Economy and Companies, Innovative Startups and New Technologies, funded by the EU’s Recovery and Resilience Facility.
