THEME OF THE MONTH

The new year brings big changes – the main autumn startup activities are coming together, Czech Startup Week a Czech Space Week will take place on the same dates. This consolidation of key events into one intense week maximises opportunities for collaboration. You can also look forward to Tech Happy Hours, AI Startup Pitch Contest or the second edition of our Technology Incubation #demoday – and more events will be added over time!

CzechInvest as coordinator will support the invitation of key stakeholders and foreign participants and will take care of the promotion of the entire platform. For the second year already, the 21-26 October 2025 and the detailed program will be published gradually, so follow us!

NUMBERS OF THE MONTH

The number of projects supported by Technology Incubation is current. The last, sixth project call will be launched in the next few weeks. Technology Incubation is reaching its peak and we will soon reach the milestone of supporting 250 projects. Details 👉 in the press release

In 2024, venture capital investments in our startups reached CZK 500 million, which represents 8% of the total VC investment in the Czech Republic according to Dealroom.co. For comparison, a total of CZK 6.5 billion was invested in all startups in the Czech Republic.

Startups supported by the Technology Incubation spent CZK 835 million on their research and development activities in the last reporting year. CZK, which is twice as much as was spent in the entire Karlovy Vary Region in 2023.

WE ARE DEVELOPING COOPERATION WITH THE CZECH REPUBLIC

At a workshop focused on sharing innovative solutions in the areas of ecotech, AI and mobility, we discussed key technological challenges and innovation requirements. DEMOLA GLOBAL FINAL IS OVER

Czech students presented their innovative projects to representatives of CzechInvest, Tietoevry and Porsche Engineering. We are a partner of this project, which involves young talents in solving challenges of Czech companies in areas such as electromobility, AI or security, thus gaining valuable skills, contacts and experience that are ideal preparation for their own startup. Up to 30% of Demola graduates actually start their own business. 👉 I want to know more

CALL FOR SPACE STARTUPS OPEN

Until until 31. March can submit applications to the ESA BIC Czech Republic incubation programme. Thanks to the link with the Technology Incubation, startups can receive financial support of up to EUR 180,000. We also remind you that those interested in the Technology Incubation can apply throughout the year to pre-incubationwhich is the ideal step to prepare for a successful application.

CZECH FOOTPRINT AT THE TRADE FAIR IN TOKIU

At ISIEX 2025, where CzechInvest organised the Czech stand, Czech companies presented their innovations in space and advanced technologies to the Japanese audience. In particular, revolutionary solutions in 3D nanoprinting were discussed in Tokyo. 👉 I want to know more

ZERO DEBRIS CHARTER: THE CZECH REPUBLIC PROTECTS SPACE

The Czech Republic has joined the Zero Debris Charter and committed to no new space debris after 2030. The Czech Republic has been actively involved in space security since 2013, when Czech industry and academia joined ambitious projects such as HERA and VIGIL. 👉 I want to know more

CZECH STARTUPS IN TAIWAN

Our startups presented themselves at the leading gaming fair Taipei Game Show, which attracted over 370,000 visitors this year Cyber Sail Consulting a FILUTA AI. Their participation was part of Beer & Pitch, an initiative to support Czech startups abroad. In the B2B part there were meetings with companies, while in the B2C part there was a game exhibition Infinity Universe, where people could try out Czech games.

MAMIO IN FOCUS OF VÁCLAV MORAVEC

Mamio kicked off 2025 in a big way. Its founder, Laureen Höllge, was on the show Václav Moravec’s Focus a unique opportunity to discuss the future of the Czech economy, support for startups and the return of talent to the Czech Republic – right alongside two presidents.

AVALTAR AND ROBOTWIN: SUCCESS ON EXPOPROTECTION AND FORBES

AVALTAR from Expoprotection 2024 took home the prestigious award Start-up 2024 for the SPARK solution. Recently, its founder Barbora Valtarová together with Megi Mejdrechová from RoboTwin were successful in the prestigious selection Forbes 30 under 30.

📅 March 12 – Startup festival – The event will offer lectures, workshops and networking for innovative startups. CzechInvest will have a stand where you can learn how we can help you grow and develop.

📅 19. March – Creative Business Cup – The grand finale of the national round, where TOP 10 creative startups from the Czech Republic will fight for a place in the world finals in Copenhagen and other prizes. The event is organized by Creative Hub.

📅 March 19 – Kick up Prague – An innovation marathon focusing on solutions for sustainable urban development in areas such as mobility, environment, energy and urban innovation. Applications open until 7 March.

📅 19-21 March – International Fair of Fictitious Companies – An event where economic education is combined with practical experience. The Journey to Space project will have its stand here, where you will also be able to meet representatives of ESA BIC and Technology Incubation.

This project was implemented with financial support from the state budget through the Ministry of Industry and Trade in the programme The Country for the Future.
