The CzechInvest Agency launches another call for this year’s Technology Incubation project. Applications for the third call for proposals will be accepted 17 November and will run until 18 December 2023. The estimated amount of the allocation is set at CZK 124 million. The four existing technology areas will be complemented by others, so that innovative projects in the fields of biotechnology, advanced materials, healthcare or security solutions will be eligible for support. These days, Technology Incubation has also introduced a new website at www.technologickainkubace.org.

“The Czech Republic has considerable potential in the field of innovation and Technology Incubation helps to fully exploit it. In the third call, the project expands its borders for the first time to other technological domains that play an important role in the economic development of the Czech Republic. In particular, areas offering healthcare and security solutions are key for the Czech Republic at this time, and we believe that by making support available to other innovative companies we will help our country’s competitiveness,” said Petr Očko, Director General of the CzechInvest agency.

In the previous two calls, projects focusing on artificial intelligence, creative industries, sustainability and energy or mobility were eligible to apply. The third call, in which CZK 124 million is available for applicants, is newly expanded to include the following areas:

Space technology, another area of the Technology Incubation project, is now supported by CzechInvest within the ESA BIC Czech Republic incubator of the European Space Agency for the 7th time. Year-round, startups can then apply to the so-called pre-incubation, which gives them the opportunity to consult the project plan before its official submission. If a startup is interested in applying to the call but is not yet registered in the pre-incubation, it can do so via this form. If the startup is already registered, it just needs to contact its pre-incubation manager. The application process is fully electronic.

“We are very pleased to open the third call to startups focused on other innovative technologies. By opening new hubs, we support virtually all industries in which technology startups do business. In addition, these days we have launched a new website for the Technology Incubation project, where interested parties and applicants can easily find all the necessary information,” adds Tereza Kubicová, deputy for technological development at the CzechInvest agency.

Technology Incubation is the largest project to support startups in the Czech Republic and is implemented with financial support from the state budget through the Ministry of Industry and Trade in the programme The Country for the Future. It has the ambition not only to provide entrepreneurs with the necessary financial resources, but also to develop the entire startup ecosystem by interconnecting with the regional innovation infrastructure, established companies and academic institutions in all supported sectors.
