Self-folding structural system for space and ground applications.

SARA develops smart, self-folding structures that can react to their surroundings. It uses principles of origami, soft robotics and smart materials to create structures suitable for space missions (e.g. solar sails, space debris collection), but also for use on Earth – for example, building temporary shelters or urban installations. Our goal is technology that is lightweight, portable, easily adaptable and planet-friendly.
