A smart and lovable home companion for the elderly.

A personalised and smart robotic companion for the elderly. PetBot is part of a Smart Home IoT-based home assistance system, i.e. it has ambient intelligence and thus prevents risks in the home, reduces cognitive and motor deprivation, prolongs independent stay in the home environment, and reduces fatigue or repetitive activities of the caregiver. PetBot is iteratively developed using novel Co-Creation/PPI methods, i.e. in close collaboration with gerontologists, geriatricians, caregivers and clients with dementia.

Unique selling points:

• Individual personalization and cultivation of the relationship with the client (appearance, language, voice. assistance, vocabulary, “personality”, hedonistic elements, etc.).
• Ambient intelligence, i.e. integration into the Smart Home IoT system, enables intelligent assistance without the need for wearables.
