Advanced polymer surfaces for in vitro diagnostic medical devices.

Sophomer s.r.o. is an academic startup founded by a group of people who come from both industry and academia. Their vision is to bring together two seemingly unrelated fields: immunoassay and polymer chemistry, and to help everyone who uses immunochemical assays in their work. One of the first and widely applicable products of this startup – which is already comically available – is the SophoMer F10 material. This is a polymer that can replace the widely used bovine serum albumin in immunochemical tests, currently a component without which the development of immunological analytics is seemingly unimaginable. Another project supported by the Technology Incubation is the development of entirely new paramagnetic particles that have the potential for universal and broad application in the development and production of diagnostic methods processed by the vast majority of automated analysers used in clinical laboratories.
