The CzechInvest Agency closed the last call for Technology Incubation on 16 April 2025. 157 startups applied for the sixth call with an allocation of CZK 44.8 million. The most frequent are startups from the creative industries, artificial intelligence and health and safety.

Technology Incubation is the largest national project to date to launch a competitive startup ecosystem. Since its announcement in 2022, over 1,650 startups have applied for pre-incubation support. This is also the reason why the Czech startup environment has a growing share in the gross domestic product and employment. The CzechInvest Agency, through projects supporting startups, cooperates with a number of young companies that help develop the innovation potential of our country and represent one of the new sources of growth for our economy, said Jan Michal, Director General of the CzechInvest agency.

Cooperation in the form of incubation consists primarily in the emphasis on technological and business development of the company and the creation of synergies between the public, private and academic spheres within the individual innovation hubs. These focus on seven key technology areas: artificial intelligence, mobility, creative industries, space technologies, ecology and circular economy, preserving and protecting life or enhancing its comfort (including health, biotechnology and security solutions) and advanced materials.

The complete data report of the project can be found here.

“We are now successfully approaching our goal of supporting 250 innovative projects, so we can only offer participation to less than thirty newcomers in this final call. Despite this, we have received more applications than in the previous two calls. In addition to the strong representation of AI, Tech4Life and Creative, we have a very promising number of applications for the area of advanced materials and technologies, focusing for example on microelectronics or 3D printing. We are therefore already in active discussions to build on the success of this project with the Ministry of Industry and Trade to offer entrepreneurs across the Czech Republic further opportunities for development and growth,” explains Tereza Kubicová, deputy for technological development of the CzechInvest agency.

The Technology Incubation represents the largest initiative to support startups in the history of the Czech Republic with a total allocation of approximately CZK 680 million. The programme is funded from the state budget through the Ministry of Industry and Trade under The Country for the Future programme.
