The third edition of the AI Days is organised by the Czech National AI Platform (CNAIP) under the auspices of the President of the Czech Republic Petr Pavel, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of the Interior and the City of Prague.
The AI 2024 Days were unofficially launched with a Sunday cultural programme in Prague and Brno, where the idea of this AI festival originated. The first edition took place in the Moravian capital and after last year’s expansion to Prague, Pilsen and Ostrava, this year AI Days will visit all regions of the Czech Republic.
“Artificial intelligence really touches each and every one of us, and that’s why we are glad that in cooperation with our partners we have managed to expand the AI Days across the Czech Republic,” says Lukáš Kačena, director of prg.ai and chairman of the Czech National AI Platform. “I am extremely pleased with how active the Czech AI scene is and how enthusiastic it is about collaboration,” he adds.
The main goal of the festival is to bring artificial intelligence closer to different target groups and to give space to those who are dedicated to this technology and its use. The content of AI Days draws on the interdisciplinary nature of artificial intelligence. There will be talks on its applications in healthcare, automotive or creative industries, as well as in sports.
“At AWS, we believe that AI is the most transformative technology of our generation with huge potential for those who know it. To unlock the full potential of AI and make education more accessible, we want to provide free training to 2 million people worldwide by 2025 through our ‘AI Ready’ commitment. Our study shows strong demand for AI talent, with AI workers earning up to 47% more. We’re excited to support AI Days in the Czech Republic, bringing awareness to AI, ML and the cloud to remove barriers to access to key technologies,” says Jiří Svěrák, Public Sector Manager, Amazon Web Services in the Czech Republic.
In addition to dozens of lectures and workshops, visitors across the Czech Republic can attend thematic events for companies (AI 4 Business) or for educators (AI 4 Edu). The most varied content will be offered by the programme for the general public of all age groups (AI 4 All), which takes place in most cities on 18 and 19 October.
“Google has been developing digital skills in the Czech Republic for a long time – we have trained over 600,000 people since 2016. This year, the Google Digital Garage – New Fundamentals programme focuses on AI training and helps companies and individuals start using these tools in their everyday lives. We believe that generative AI can increase productivity and contribute to the long-term growth of our economy, which is why we decided to support AI Days to bring AI awareness to all regions,” comments Ivana Kopková, Google’s marketing manager.
This year’s topics include cybersecurity, ethics and law. In the programme, interested parties can choose from community meetups, hackathons and a number of professional events. Discussions will also include the Czech Large Language Model (LLM) and General Artificial Intelligence (AGI). The lighter agenda will be represented by AI-themed escape games or AI deployment in a bar.
“CzechInvest has long supported innovative start-ups through the Technology Incubation project, including in the field of artificial intelligence through the AI HUB.
