
Czech Startup Week New York introduced 7 Czech startups to the USA
Our startups got a unique opportunity to present their innovations, make contacts with investors and test their potential for entering the US market at Czech Startup Week New York.
“We received a number of very interesting and creative ideas for the competition. The final ten represent a wide range of industries, from design and fashion to audio and software. We are all looking forward to the final night, during which the jury will face a very difficult task. Consider must take into account a number of factors, such as business potential, innovation, social impact and, of course, the presentation of the finalists themselves,” says Markéta Mentelová, Director of the Creative Hub of the CzechInvest Technology Incubation project. Nearly 40 startups submitted their applications for the national round, and after the evaluation of the criteria, 29 projects were presented before the first evaluation committee.
A diverse selection of startups from many sectors of the creative industries made it to the final ten. Startup Augg.io develops augmented reality apps for content creators. The Airbo project exploits the hidden potential of unused airbags and turns them into design pieces in the form of backpacks, luggage and accessories. Czech manufacturer of electric bicycles E CAFE BIKE comes up with innovative electric cargo trolleys that can be attached to most bicycles. Dogfish has created Chillisign software that provides an easy solution for customizing and unifying email signatures. The puppet action game Kenka puppetgame is inspired by the Asian template and offers an interactive battle of original wooden puppets. Language solutions offers the Galenio solution to make it easier for patients in foreign countries to communicate in hospitals. Repeato is a mobile app that connects music teachers with students and schools. The Voxtox social network creates an environment for listening to personalised content, creating, editing and sharing audio content. XEN equipment develops, manufactures and markets innovative products for movement and sport. They focus on futuristic design with creative elements. YoungLink is coming up with a web app that aims for a healthy classroom climate.
Creative Business Cup aims to support creative startups from all over the world, connecting them with each other and helping them find investors and conquer foreign markets. The organiser of the Czech national round of the competition is the CzechInvest Agency for Enterprise and Investment Promotion. It searches for creative and innovative startups across the Czech Republic and helps to verify their global potential through the Creative Business Cup competition. The final night of the national round will take place on 14. March 2024 in Liberec. The winner then takes part in the global final in Copenhagen.
