This year, the Czech gaming and technology sector was again represented at the Taipei Game Show – one of the most important gaming events in the Asia-Pacific region. The delegation was led by the CzechInvest agency and Creative Hub Technological Incubation, headed by its director Petra Kneslova. Together with industry organisations and companies, they presented Czech know-how in the field of game development, AI and XR technologies and actively established new partnerships.

Taiwan has long been seen primarily as a center of gaming hardware manufacturing. For this reason, the mission was also aimed at learning about the broader context of the local industry and opportunities for cooperation in the areas of development, technology and creative production. During the fair, the Czech stand became a venue for intensive business negotiations and meetings with foreign partners. In addition to CzechInvest, the delegation included representatives of the Czech Game Developers Association, the Game Cluster, as well as startups Kapnetix, rankacy AI, Studio Brocap and VRgineers.

The programme also included the Asia Pacific Game Summit, where technology incubation startup Kapnetix gave a talk on the use of AI in animation. This participation helped Czech startups to open the door to the Asian market and establish the first important contacts for future cooperation.

From trade fair presentation to long-term cooperation

Participation did not stop with the presentation at the fair alone. In cooperation with the Taipei Computer Association and the Prague GDA, the CzechInvest agency has started preparing a delegation of Taiwanese companies to come to Prague in December for the Game Developers Session. At the same time, negotiations were held with the Taiwan Creative Content Agency, which connects technology and creative entities in the local market and organises international content and pitching events. This opened up the possibility of engaging Czech companies and sharing know-how. Follow-up communication is also taking place with the GAMEWORKS platform , where specific forms of cooperation are being discussed – from connecting development teams, organising workshops to investment matchmaking. Participation in the fair was not a one-off presentation, but the first step towards a longer-term linking of the Czech and Taiwanese gaming environments.

“In 2025, we made our first contact with the Taipei Computer Association when we presented Czech game companies at TGS2025 as part of the Asia Pacific Game Summit, where I gave a separate lecture on the game industry in the Czech Republic and Central Europe. We followed up on these contacts at TGS2026, where we already started to address the specific contours of a delegation of Taiwanese companies to the Czech Republic – from startups that need to understand the principles of the European market to established companies looking for new business partners. It would be interesting if representatives of leading HW companies such as ASUS, MSI or Acer would also participate in the delegation, but this will be discussed in the coming months.” concludes Pavel Barák, Chairman of the Czech Game Developers Association, who was also part of the delegation.

Another opportunity (not only) for game startups: the Creative Business Czechia

Ambitious young companies once again have the chance to make themselves visible on the domestic and international startup scene and reach their first investors. The tenth edition of the competition, organized by the Technology Incubation project and the CzechInvest agency, offers them this opportunity.Creative Business Czechia. The winner will receive valuable prizes including participation in London Tech Week 2026.
