The CzechInvest Agency in cooperation with the Startup Kitchen platform organized the second edition of the AI Startup Pitch Contest through the AI Hub of the Technology Incubation project. The event was part of the nationwide festival AI Days.

The competition was held in two rounds – in Brno and Prague, with the Brno round conducted in Czech and the Prague round in English. In total, over 90 participants arrived and 24 of them presented their AI project in front of the expert jury.

The aim of the competition was to offer a space for young and innovative companies to introduce themselves and at the same time to connect them with key representatives of partner VC funds, regional innovation centres and the opportunity to connect to an inspiring technology community,” explains Zdeněk Havel, Director of AI Hub Technology Incubation. The Brno round, hosted by the South Moravian Innovation Centre, was won by the Taiwanese project Jmem Tek, which focuses on hardware security for specific applications, mainly in the semiconductor industry. It was followed by domestic startups Stavario, which, in addition to an electronic construction diary, is developing an automated service for selling leftover building materials, and Advomate with a project to automate legal processes using AI.

The Prague round, held in the nice premises of the Workroom, was dominated by the Czech Auditmaster.ai, which automates gap analysis, due diligence or audit reports using AI. Second place went to Taiwanese startup iCHASE with its computer vision-based tool for monitoring poultry health. And third place went to HADA TECH, which is developing a tool for improving the condition of patients with respiratory diseases, also from Taiwan.

The winners received not only media support from the organizers, but also entry to the prestigious Truesdays meetup by Startup Kitchen and the opportunity to present at the international Tech Happy Hours conference. “Once again, we were surprised by the quality of the individual projects submitted to the competition both in Brno and Prague. It was difficult to choose the finalists from all the entries and even more difficult for the jury at the individual events. In the competition of international projects the next day at Tech Happy Hours, the winners of the AI Pitch Contests were definitely not lost.” says Tomas Cironis. The Taiwanese startup iCHASE shone in the final with its innovative AIoT solution for sustainable precision livestock breeding.

Of course, we would also like to thank the partners of the competition, Y Soft Ventures, Tensor Ventures, and JIC Ventures, whose representatives were part of the expert juries at the individual events, from which all competitors received valuable feedback for the further development of their projects,” adds Zdeněk Havel. The Prague part of the competition was part of the newly established platform Czech Startup Week, which brings together prestigious startup events into one week packed with inspiration and international networking.
