Take a look at the overview report of the Technology Incubation project data, which we have currently added a section dedicated to startup founders.

We collect and analyse data for startups at three main stages of project entry (pre-incubation, application and incubation). The data source is a pre-incubation (registration) questionnaire and an information system for the submission of official applications and the management of supported startups. This registration is open to everyone continuously from June 2022. We supplement the data mainly with information from public registers (such as categories of number of employees, turnover, etc.).

Data shows that startups in the Czech Republic are increasingly being created through collaboration and sharing of talent and experience.
Although the situation is slowly improving, women are still a minority in the technology business. Women, as founders of startups, are represented by only 10%. Women are more prominent in the Creative and Ecotech sectors.
The age structure of the founders is balanced, i.e. 50/50 young vs. older. A higher proportion of younger people (i.e. under 40) can be found in the Creative sector, with almost 60% of founders. The more experienced, i.e. over 40 years of age, can be found in the Tech4life sector.
The founders also include at least 55 people with a research background, i.e. people with a PhD or higher academic degree.
