Ninety percent of startup founders are men
Michal Urban, Director of the Business Environment Division at the CzechInvest agency, explains why we need more innovative startups in the Czech Republic.
“The Mobility Innovation Hub provides innovative companies with a wide range of services in the areas of marketing and sales, networking, not only on the domestic market, but especially abroad, in cooperation with other partners. The startup presentations showed that the Technology Incubation project can generate innovations that have real benefits for corporate partners. The Demo Day also kicked off several promising discussions on mutual cooperation,” said Jan Bízik, Director of the Mobility Innovation Hub of the Technology Incubation project of the CzechInvest Agency.
Thanks to the cooperation with the Start it accelerator, the whole event took place in the premises of the ČSOB office building. The programme was opened by Jan Bízik, Director of the Mobility Innovation Hub. During the evening, Petr Očko, Director of the CzechInvest agency, also gave a speech, introducing the role of Technology Incubation in the innovation ecosystem of the Czech Republic. The results of the Technology Incubation programme were then complemented and presented by Tereza Kubicová, Deputy for Technological Development.
The event was attended by eight startups from the first call of the project: AMITIA, MYCO, NULL SPACES, PINFLOW, RINGIL, SPECTODA, QEEDIO and YEDEM. During the individual pitches, the startups presented their strategies and products to the participants.
The Mobility Innovation Hub was created as a platform to support innovation in the automotive industry and wider mobility, which also includes rail or aviation, smart logistics and manufacturing. It addresses, among other things, clean mobility – electric and hydrogen propulsion, digitisation of transport, autonomous driving or urban and shared transport. In addition to state and regional organisations, Mobility Innovation Hub partners include industry associations including Autocluster, the Association of Czech Railway Industry, the Moravian Aviation Cluster, the Chamber of Commerce, the Association of Small and Medium Enterprises, as well as all technical universities and partners from all key foreign markets.
The first Demo Day of the project ended with networking. The whole evening started a tradition of events that we will repeat next year, this time focusing on startups from all areas of the Technology Incubation project.
