CzechInvest Agency in cooperation with CTU, IBM and Tensor Ventures is organizing the second annual Quantum Day 2024 conference, which will take place on 26. June at the National Technical Library in Prague. This major event will focus on the latest trends and innovations in quantum technologies, including quantum computing, communications and security.
The conference will offer a platform for scientists, industry experts and government officials to meet and discuss the future of quantum technologies and their importance for the Czech Republic. Quantum technologies are key to strengthening competitiveness and technological sovereignty in the global market.
The event will be attended by important representatives of ministries, Petr Kavalíř, Quantum Commissioner of the Office of the Government, Martin Švík from IBM and representatives of Tensor Ventures, CzechInvest and CTU, including Prof. Ing. Igor Jex, DrSc. The event will also attract international participation – for example, Witold Jarnicki, founder of the successful quantum startup BEIT, and Ray Harishankar, vice president of IBM Quantum Safe, will speak.
This year’s Quantum Day is preceded by the International Quantum Hackathon, which takes place from 24-25 June under the auspices of Assoc. RNDr. Vojtěch Petráček, CSc., Rector of CTU. On behalf of CTU, the organizers are the Faculty of Information Technology and the Faculty of Nuclear and Physical Engineering. Together with CTU, the hackathon is also organized by CzechInvest, IBM and Tensor Ventures. The winners of the quantum hackathon and their innovative solutions will be announced on stage during the Quantum Day conference.
“Quantum technologies in the hands of startups solve the pressing problems of today. From developing revolutionary materials and accelerating drug research to optimising finance and strengthening cyber security. Investing in startups in this industry is an investment in innovation and transforming the world towards a more sustainable and prosperous future, and our goal is to bring more such projects into our Technology Incubation Project and help open doors to funding, infrastructure and mentorship,” said Kristina Lišková, director of the ATM HUB of the Technology Incubation project of the CzechInvest agency.
This action is being implemented within the framework of the Entrepreneurship Support Project, which is part of the National Recovery Plan, Component 1.4. Digital Economy and Society, Innovative Start-ups and New Technologies, funded by the EU’s Recovery and Resilience Facility.
