In June 2026, an event titled “A Modern Approach to Business Management,” with the subtitle “Practical Tips for ESG and Strengthening the Competitiveness of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises,” took place at Kavárna Háčko in Prague 14. The event offered entrepreneurs a clear overview of sustainability, legislation, financing, and the practical impacts of ESG on the day-to-day operations of companies.
The Prague meeting was the next stop on the ESG roadshow, which CzechInvest is organizing in selected regions in cooperation with expert partners; this time, the meeting took place at the invitation of the Prague 14 City District. It followed up on previous workshops focused on risk management, corporate sustainability, and ESG principles, which took place in 2025 in Olomouc, Sokolov, and Jihlava, as well as on another regional stop in Pardubice.
The goal of the event was to show that ESG does not have to be merely an administrative burden or a distant regulatory obligation for small and medium-sized businesses. On the contrary, it can be a tool for better risk management, more efficient business processes, easier access to financing, and building trusting relationships with business partners.
The program combined expert commentary with specific real-world examples. Representatives from Deloitte highlighted the importance of non-financial information for supply chains and grant funding. The “Change for the Better” platform for sustainable business focused on upcoming sustainability legislation and examples of functional business models from corporate practice.
“The event confirmed that ESG is becoming an increasingly relevant topic for companies, but at the same time, they need practical and easy-to-understand information above all else. Our goal was to show that sustainability doesn’t have to be a scary concept, but can help companies better manage risks, strengthen their credibility, and prepare for the demands of the market and their business partners. We are very pleased with the positive feedback from participants and the high quality of the entire program,” said Kateřina Ehrlichová, director of the CzechInvest Regional Office for Prague and the Central Bohemian Region.
As part of the program, CzechInvest presented EcoTech Hub , including startup solutions focused on climate-neutral technologies. Participants also learned more about the services of the Enterprise Europe Network in the area of ESG. The next part of the program featured the Prague Innovation Institute, Coca-Cola Czech Republic, and CYRKL, which highlighted circular solutions in waste management and opportunities for digitizing corporate waste.
“Small and medium-sized businesses often know that sustainability is relevant to them, but they need clear guidance on where to start and what will truly benefit them. This is exactly where the Enterprise Europe Network can help—from providing a basic overview to assessing specific areas such as energy, water, or waste, all the way to connecting companies with partners and innovative solutions. ESG is then not just a response to market demands for companies, but a practical tool for greater resilience and competitiveness,” said Markéta Svobodová, sustainability advisor for the Enterprise Europe Network Czechia project.
The event also included a closing discussion and a networking session, during which participants could consult with experts and representatives of the participating organizations on specific questions. Participants also had the opportunity to meet with a representative from Impact Hub, who provided information on the free Green Evolution Lab educational program. The event as a whole was very positively received by participants and demonstrated that a proactive approach to ESG is becoming an important part of modern corporate management. A television report was also produced about the event, which you can watch here.
The program will feature investor conferences, demo days, pitching sessions for investors, matchmaking and networking, expert lectures and workshops, as well as events focused on defense and dual-use technologies.
