The national round of the Creative Business Cup 2024 competition supporting creative start-ups knows its winner. It was the startup E-CAFE BIKE, which was selected by an expert jury from the final ten during the gala evening in the Liberec cinema Varšava yesterday. The winners of the competition, organised by the CzechInvest agency, will compete in the world finals in Copenhagen. The audience award went to the puppet game Kenka puppetgame.
“The final evening of the national round of the Creative Business Cup 2024 competition is over and I am pleased to say that the event exceeded everyone’s expectations. This year, the competition was complemented by a rich accompanying programme focused on the creative industries, and thanks to the large turnout and feedback, we have verified that there is interest in it. The winner of the E-CAFE BIKE competition won the jury’s heartproduct that connects business and creativity, and we wish him good luck at the global final in Copenhagen,” says Markéta Mentelová, Director of the Creative HUB at CzechInvest and organiser of the Czech round of the Creative Business Cup competition.
E-CAFE BIKE, a winning startup that focuses on electric bikes, comes up with innovative cargo trucks that have their own electric drive and are fully energy self-sufficient thanks to solar panels. Their electrified range of cargo trolleys will be attachable to most conventional bicycles or e-bikes, offering a load capacity of up to 250kg and storage space comparable to twice the volume of a 400-litre passenger car. The jury was impressed by the overall sophistication of the project and the emphasis on an ecological approach.
“We are very happy about the victory and we are already looking forward to the final round where we will face world-class competition. We believe that startups show the direction the world will take in the future. Winning the national round of the competition will not only help us to increase our prestige, but will also give us the opportunity to showcase honest Czech production abroad,” says Zuzana Malinová from the startup E-CAFE BIKE right after the announcement.
The jury composed of representatives of CzechInvest and the competition partners awarded second place to the startup Kenka puppetgame and third place to the bullying prevention platform Younglink. The Audience Favorite Award went to the second place winner Kenka puppetgame. The audience was captivated by the witty presentation and the enthusiasm of the founder.
