The Brno Exhibition Centre will host the URBIS The Smart Cities Meetup 2026 conference fair from 2 to 4 June. The most important Czech and Central European platform for urban innovation and regional development will focus on the resilience of cities and municipalities and their role as open spaces for testing innovations.

150 exhibitors, dozens of foreign guests and more than 5 thousand visitors are expected. Nearly 200 domestic and international speakers are expected to present papers on energy, data and artificial intelligence, security, mobility, circular economy, water management and social innovation.

Representatives of the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) Czechia project and ESA Ambassadors will be part of the CzechInvest and Technology Incubation stand in Hall V. You can also see the exposition of our Mobility Innovation Hub startups: Treetino, Waste Digital, OffRoadTrailers, ECOTEN, Citymind, 3L Robotics, RUTiGO and IONT tech.

“Modern cities and regions mean better services for people, safer environments and stronger economies. That’s why innovation, including research, development, digitalisation and artificial intelligence, is an important part of the Czech Republic’s Economic Strategy: a Country for the Future 2.0. Those who can quickly connect transport, energy, technology and services will get a head start. The strategy is a timetable for kick-starting a high value-added economy where growth is driven by the private sector,” says 1st Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Karel Havlíček, adding: “

An important part of the programme will be examples of good practice shared by representatives of cities and municipalities from all over the Czech Republic. Visitors can also look forward to foreign leaders of the Smart City scene from Finland, the Netherlands or Great Britain, free consultations with experts or a competition for a pilot project for cities and municipalities worth up to CZK 250 ,000. The expert sponsors of the thematic blocks are the Ministries of Industry and Trade, Regional Development, Transport, Environment, Interior and Education, the South Moravian Region, the City of Brno and other partners.

The main guests of the three-day URBIS The Smart Cities Meetup 2026 will be representatives of the European Network of Living Labs (ENoLL), the world’s largest network of open platforms for testing innovations in real environments. Representatives of the Finnish network InnoCities, which connects the public and private sectors in the development of urban innovation, will also come to Brno.

In addition to the big ones, experiences with smart technologies and innovations will also be heard from smaller municipalities and regional pioneers. For the first time, the new Association of Municipalities of Metropolitan Areas and Agglomerations of the Czech Republic, which brings together the areas with the highest economic performance, will also be presented to the wider public. The National Consultation Point will be available for visitors, where representatives of CzechInvest, CzechTrade, API and EEN Czechia will be ready to consult on subsidy opportunities and services for municipalities, companies and startups throughout the event. CzechInvest also convened all regional offices at the Urbis fair to effectively spread the theme of Smart Cities to all regions of the Czech Republic.
