PHOTOREPORT: Christmas meet-up of Technological Incubation

Recall the atmosphere of the December meeting for our startups.
On Wednesday 4 December 2024, we held a Christmas meeting for more than 186 guests of the Technology Incubation and ESA BIC Czech Republic projects in the Louvre Café Gallery. On the agenda were not only interesting presentations focused on further development and growth opportunities for the projects, but also a look back at the past year and the joint results. There was also the traditional space for networking and consultations with leading industry experts, representatives of our hubs and others who work intensively on incubation projects of the CzechInvest agency.
What all was part of the main programme?
- Jan Michal, Director General of CzechInvest, together with Kateřina Rundová, Head of the Startup Incubation Department, gave the opening welcome.
- Project Manager for EcoTech Jan Ruml and Kateřina Rundová introduced us to the upcoming innovations of Technology Incubation for the upcoming year 2025.
- Incubation Manager Adéla Boráňová and Project Manager Michal Kuneš spoke on behalf of ESA BIC Czech Republic with news and results for the year 2024.
- Ivo Denemark, Director of the Startups and Venture Investments Division, presented an attractive opportunity to travel with CzechInvest to prestigious international conferences such as the American SWSX, Estonian Latitude 59 or Portuguese Web Summit and present their projects to foreign investors in the Beer & Pitch format.
- The Director of the Startup Acceleration Department, Tomáš Navrátil, then followed up with the upcoming second call for support for foreign expansion of scale-ups, which will be launched soon.
- ESA ambassadors David Hladík and Vojtěch Urban spoke about the wide range of opportunities to support startups.
- Digital Europe Programme Manager David Mićević shared his insight into the EU’s digital transformation programme and the financial subsidy for SMEs.
- Tereza Kubicová and Kateřina Rundová, deputies for technological development of the CzechInvest agency, answered questions asked via the Sli.do application.
- After the official part of the program, there was also an inspiring speed-dating focused on sharing business know-how with Kateryna Kovalenko from DEPO Ventures, Matej Krcek from Purple Ventures, Liliana Unachukwufrom Pipette & Chart and other speakers of the evening. This was followed by informal networking in the style of the famous Bingo competition and a festive-themed game for the most festive sweater.

In the case of space startups, the application for incubation and the subsequent selection are separate from the Technology Incubation calls. All startups must therefore first apply to ESA BIC Czech Republic. The next challenge will be open during March, keep an eye on the ESA BIC website for information.
