Ninety percent of startup founders are men
Michal Urban, Director of the Business Environment Division at the CzechInvest agency, explains why we need more innovative startups in the Czech Republic.
Startups Windees, Qeedio and MilkyWay be well, for example, under the leadership of incubation manager Adela Boráňová, participated in an entrepreneurial mission in Thailand, where they traveled together with representatives of ECOTEN urban comfort, STRATOSYST and Big Terra from the ESA BIC Czech Republic space incubator and the young company BatteryCheck.
During their trip, all innovators not only met with progressive companies and major investors in Southeast Asia at the Thai-Czech Startup Forum, but also presented at the international conference Techsauce Global Summit Bangkok 2024.
“We see the international feedback on our product as the most important, as we have confirmed our expectations for expansion into other countries, mainly in Asia.
We have received very positive feedback on our technology, both from government representatives, dominant energy companies and local VC funds.
There is interest in our turbines in Thailand, South Korea, Vietnam, Australia, Japan, Hong Kong and Israel.
We consider our participation to be very successful and hope to develop the established contacts. ”Petr Stastny
“Techsauce was an opportunity for us to showcase Qeedio and gain contacts with potential customers and partners in the dynamically developing region of Southeast Asia.
We brought in contacts at a large bank, a utility company, and several strong Qeedia distribution partnerships.”
David Schiller
“In addition to the amazing atmosphere, hospitality, perfect logistics and great people, we take three things away from MilkyWay:
1. Contacting a startup that has a ready-made solution that will fit our project.
2. contact to Mahidol University and its spin-off company dealing with zero stage diagnostics – this could be an interesting Czech-Thai collaboration.
And thirdly, a link to the Economic and Scientific Diplomacy. Here we have big plans, we want to establish cooperation with universities, in Japan, in Australia, in the United States and in the UK.
This cooperation is crucial for international expansion on a large scale. ”Martin Bořil
“In addition to new business opportunities, it is above all direct contact with the Southeast Asian environment, which is specific for its dynamism and gateway.
This is a critical region for our company at the intersection of technology and agriculture.”
Pavel Juruš
In a competition of more than 300 participants, the startup Big Terra won the Techsauce Innovation Award.
